Our client, a Global startup company with 200 employees worldwide, are seeking a Software Engineer, Real-time Communication Software Engineer, to lead the development of cutting-edge real-time communication software for their life-saving platform. This role involves designing and implementing high-performance VoIP services and streaming architectures to ensure seamless emergency support.

Real-time Communication Software Engineer - (Lisbon, hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop core RTC components across client and server levels, creating scalable infrastructures for real-time communication in emergency services;
•Work in multi-platform environments integrating mobile clients, VoIP/Streaming servers, command systems, and emergency devices;
•Contribute to diverse RTC open-source projects, including WebRTC (APIs and internals), HTTP Streaming, and media frameworks like GStreamer and FFmpeg;
•Optimize bandwidth estimation and implement video/audio codecs such as VP8/9, H.264/5, SVC, Opus, and AAC.
Requirements:
•Relevant BSc degree;
•Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science;
•3+ years of backend development experience, focusing on Real-Time Communication (Audio/Video/WebRTC/Streaming). Experience with Scala, Java, or C is advantageous, but expertise in any language is welcome;
•Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS;
•Fluent in English.
